Since emerging on the scene in January with its premier issue, attention to the UWJ webzine is more than evident, taking on readers at an exponential rate.
Here’s what readers have to say:
“Just downloaded the first three issues; as a diver and photographer for nearly 40 years, I've seen many great mags. Yours is right up there with the best! Cheers.”- Alan Morrison, New Zealand
“The photography is stunning – wow. I can’t wait to dive with all those grouper.”- Bryan Pennington, Overland Park, Kansas
“Very impressive. It’s jam-packed with really, good information. The article about North Carolina brought back great memories. Now I want to go see the big boys!” - Margaret Chatham, Boynton Beach, FL

In April UWJ was added to the list of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Information Exchange for Marine Educators Archive of Journals. Marine Protected Areas website (www.mpa.gov), hosted by NOAA and supported by NOAA’s Office of Education. The Information Exchange for Marine Educators (http://mpa.gov/pdf/helpful-resources/education/journal0207.pdf) is a “monthly e-newsletter intended to improve the availability of education information to MPA practitioners and the public, encourage exchange of information and programs, and promote collaboration among educators.”
A free, bimonthly, web-based magazine, UWJ covers ocean exploration and research, and the simple pleasures of sport diving. Unlike print-based magazines, which generate toxic waste and consume vast natural resources to sustain print and distribution demands, UWJ is an electronic pub distributed in PDF format through the internet. Best of all, it’s easy to save and read at any time – online or off.
Created by a team of highly experienced journalists and veteran divers, UWJ incorporates the best features of traditional diving publications, providing detailed and up-to-date information on local diving and equipment. UWJ addresses the entire sport of diving and delves fascinating realms of underwater exploration and ocean sciences. In its continued endeavor to bring to the front responsible and factual content, Underwater Journal Issue 3 is out!
