Pozo Azul Reflections and push report August 2008 (By Dr. Reinhard Buchaly)
Let me start with the end. We had a successful project with a lot of fun and team spirit, and could get a lot of good footage for the video report, special thanks to JP. A broken o-ring was the reason that we cancelled the push dive close to 2 km inside the second sump.
New was the violence from competitors trying to stop us to dive the cave. The difference may be now that we can put a face on the troublemakers. Later more on this.
Earlier this year we were able to dive the cave and even add nearly 500 meters of line. Actually this was also a little bit asthonishing to us, because it was our first dive in the second sump, and we just wanted to get an impression. But the cave tunnel is big, easy to dive, even five divers side by side would fit in most places, with nearly no silt-out danger anywhere. So we just emptied the reel we had with us.

Producing a EKPP movie (By JP Bresser)
After de Source de Vis video I always had fantasies about producing a bigger and better movie, not so improvised as Source de Vis but more prepared. So when we started talking about Pozo Azul and the specifics of the cave I could not wait to get started. I brought an enormous amount of gear to the project, discussed with Markus and Reinhard how and what we can do and thought about a nice form to put the story together.
Like with most things in practice, things turn out different than anticipated..... We got blocked, shouted at, disturbed by a drunken mayor in the middle of the night, setup jobs got in the way of the filming process, the long hours and carrying all the gear every day all had its toll on the production of the movie......
