Tired of toiling at the same old job? Hate eating luch every day with the same dull people? Does your commute really get you down? Maybe it's time for a new job. Here's an idea for you...
Recently, Scuba Schools International teamed up with the Local 80 Divers Association to create a system that will help production companies hire underwater technicians for filming movies. (Local 80 is an organization that promotes safe diving within the film industry. Over the years, they've worked on numerous productions, including Titanic, Into the Blue, and Surface.)
In the past, production companies have found it difficult to know whether the grips they hire are qualified to handle the duties required of them. With the new SSI Motion Picture Diver rating system however, a standardized certification should provide production companies with the confidence to know their grips are properly trained. The new system has four levels to identify the diver's experience and training level.
Unfortunately for most of us, Dan Barrows of Scuba Schools of America, in Woodland Hills, California, is the only instructor approved to issue SSI Motion Picture Diver recognition cards at this time. |

Not only that but they are breaking ground by going into the commercial divers area........... I forsee a lot of lawsuits coming their way 8O |

I don't think that just because of this new level that you will have more chances in the film industry..... |
